John Spicer Stephens (Jack) passed away peacefully on August 2, 2017, at the age of 82. He was the husband to Shirley Sheffer. They shared 62 years together.

Jack was born on January 21, 1935, in Lewistown, Montana, to Joseph C. and Gertrude E. Stephens. He graduated from the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind in 1953. He got a job as a lithographer/printer in Plentywood, Montana, where he met his future bride, Shirley.

In 1957, Jack got a job at a local newspaper in Thompson Falls, Montana, where they raised their 3 daughters.

Jack enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, hunting, bowling, card games, puzzles, and building model airplanes. He will always be remembered most for his love of teasing and practical jokes.

Jack is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Patricia, daughters Jackie, Sydney (David) and Terry (Kevin). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren Kent, Tiffany, Kacey, Alex (Jessica), Max, Curtis, Corey (Victor) and 2 great grandchildren Alexander and Maisie.

At Jack's request there will be no service. The family will gather at a later date for a celebration of his life.
