Ronald F. McRae, 76
Ron McRae died, July 22,2A17, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho with his devoted sister Judy M. Danner at his side. Ron was born in Alameda, California, on February 21,1941. The first born child of John F. McRae and Adeline Griego, he graduated from Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, California.
Ron was a patriot who honorably served in the United States Army. Drafted at the age of twenty-six, he served in Vietnam. Shortly after returning, he married Karen L. Curlett in the summer of 1969. They had one daughter, Marla. The family lived in the Northern California Bay Area for many years.
At an early age, Ron developed a love and appreciation for the outdoors. He became an avid sportsman and lived a rich life of hunting, fishing, camping, and back packing. Ron shared his passion for the outdoors with many friends and family. There wasn't a western state that Ron hadn't cast a fly or let off a round.
Politically well read, and confident with opinion, Ron loved to engage others in the topic of the day. He loved his country and wanted others to appreciate it.
After retiring from Alameda, California's Naval Air in the early 1990's, where he worked on intricate instrument panels and electronic airplane components for the Navy, Ron moved to Northern Idaho to make his home in Hayden, Idaho. He continued to follow his passion for the outdoors and served local clubs and organizations that appreciated the same.
A grandfather of two (Mason and Gabriella), Ron will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family.
Grave side services will occur on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. for family and friends at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens located at 73l5 N Government Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID, 83815.
