Betty (Fox) Fisher passed away June 25, 2017. Though she suffered some sudden health problems, Betty no doubt died of a broken heart. Betty was the youngest of the four daughters of Cecil and Leah Fox. Betty met Doug in high school (Fresno) and then again in college at Fresno State after dad had been discharged from the Coast Guard for a bad knee. They were married on January 20, 1946. They had 5 children. After 60 years in Fresno, Doug and Betty moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho along with two of their children and their families. In April of this year they moved into a retirement living community (Garden Plaza). Doug passed away from a stroke just 10 days after moving in. Betty missed her Douglass tremendously.
In her younger years Betty enjoyed golf, sewing, cards and was active in a number of social groups including PEO which she remained active in until recently. Betty still enjoyed cards right up until the end having just learned a new game (Nickels) the week before her health failed. She was a member of Lake City Community Church and attended faithfully.
Betty is survived by her five children - Douglass Scott Fisher (Teresa), VA, Wm. Thomas Fisher (Mary), WA, Nancy Elizabeth Wingren, IL, Dann Robert Fisher, CA and Mark David Fisher (Raelene), ID. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Doug, granddaughter Mary Louise Fisher, her sisters and parents.
