Ruth was born May 8, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the parents of Edward and Mary Guzinski. She was one of fifteen children. Ruth married her late husband, Ervin Rissling, on October 4, 1950. They were married for fifty-three years.
During her lifetime, Ruth was a homemaker, a loving mother, and had been employed at several factory jobs to help support the family. In 1955, Ruth and her husband moved to Southern California, where they raised two children. In 1980, Ruth and Erv, moved to Pembine, Wisconsin, to help take care of her mother-in-law. After the passing of her husband, in 2003, Ruth moved to Grass Valley, California, to be near her son Roy and later moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to be near her daughter Bonnie and Roy soon after moved to Coeur d'Alene also.
Ruth was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles and word searches. She enjoyed listening to music especially polka music. One of her passions was to watch Lawrence Welk every Saturday evening so she could get up and dance. She was an active member in the local Catholic Church and religiously said the rosary every day. She loved her family and friends and her wit and humor will be missed my all.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Thomas) Keenan; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho her son Roy Rissling; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, her grandson, Shawn Keenan; of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and grandson Jay (Michelle) Keenan; San Ramon, California and four great grandchildren; Kai, Kaleia, Liana, and Cristina. She is also survived by one sister Doris Ramsey; Las Vegas, Nevada.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be 12:00 p.m. Friday May 19, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 East Haycraft Ave. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83815. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday May 19, 2017 at St. Thomas Cemetery.
